About
Sarah Tischer Scully has a Bachelor of Science degree in Audio Technology from American University, where she focused on studio engineering and music production. After graduation, Sarah worked with her professor and mentor, Benjamin Tomassetti, to explore the craft of live recording.
Sarah has found that many music styles sound best when recorded in a live performance environment. While she enjoys the studio production process, her passion is for jazz and folk music — styles that are enhanced by an audience presence. In addition, Sarah records classical and religious music in acoustically appropriate venues such as concert halls and churches.
Since 1999, Sarah has been acquiring her own recording equipment and microphone collection. While in Washington, DC, Sarah formed Capital City Studios and worked closely with Transparent Productions, a partnership that allowed her to record artists from New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and Europe.
Currently, Sarah lives and works in central Vermont. She travels to Burlington, Montpelier, and other towns to record jazz, folk, bluegrass and other styles of music.
